This time of year we're all looking for familiar comforts- throw on that favourite wool sweater, pour some hot (fair trade) cocoa, and engage in a satisfying soup-making session! Winter is the best time for this, since the super-star storage veggies can be celebrated to their fullest. Winter helps me appreciate a vibrant local food supply all the more, as I look out at the snow-cover fields silently resting, and am greatful for all the healthy foods in storage.

If you come and visit the Red Barn Market here at the farm, or our table at the Guelph or Dufferin Grove markets, you will find our tasty, nutrient-packed Jerusalem Artichokes, Parsnips, Celeriac, Rutabaga, Lutz Beets and Squash. To satisfy a thirst for fresh local ingredients, we also have beautiful Salad Mix, Shiitake Mushroom, Watercress, Carrots and more from other local, organic farms. To round out the plate, there is a great selection of cooking Greens and Fruit available, too. Bundle up!
